All-fiber Fabry-Perot Interferometer with Vernier Effect for Highly-Sensitive Axial Contact Force Measurement

Abstract

A fiber-optic Fabry-Perot interferometer with Vernier effect is presented for axial contact force measurement. It exhibits a high sensitivity of 1.927 nm/N by utilizing Vernier effect, which enlarges the sensitivity by a factor of 9.
