Abstract
Compared with traditional track electrical sensing technology, the characteristics of fiber-optic sensing technology make it more advantageous in track monitoring. It is very important to properly install the optical fiber sensors on the track. Based on weak fiber Bragg Grating (wFBG) distributed array sensors to monitor the safety status of train tracks in real time, novel encapsulation technology of approaching zero intensity loss is developed. This paper proposes two kinds of encapsulation technology for optical fiber array sensors. One is the encapsulation technology of sheet-iron, and the other is the encapsulation technology of iron-ring optimized for the encapsulation technology of sheet-iron. After analysis and comparison of the experimental results, the loss of luminous intensity of the encapsulation technology of iron-ring is smaller and close to zero, and it has good stability and good protection performance for the sensor. Therefore, the wFBG distributed array sensors encapsulated by iron-ring have better application performance.
