Abstract

A single-ended distributed acoustic sensor based on remotely pumped Er-doped fibre amplifier is demonstrated using a 1480nm Raman fibre laser as pump at the front-end of the fibre to achieve a 100km sensing range and 2.6m spatial resolution.
