Lab-In-Fiber Sensor integrated in Surgical Needle for Fluid Detection

Abstract

This paper shows the manufacture of a 300 µm lab-in-fiber sensor integrated in a surgical needle. It includes an air micro-cavity and a Pl-b-Pl FBG, allowing to detect a medium change and the surrounding refractive index.
