Abstract

We propose a highly flexible and applicable configuration- “vertical-fluid-array induced optic microfiber long period grating” (VIOLIN) to further explore the characteristics of the liquids. The high RI sensitivity of VIOLIN enables it a conveniently reproducible chemical sensor towards thiol compounds. The proof-of-concept could be described briefly as “Liquid renders the resonance to light. Light deciphers the secret of liquid.”
