Highly Sensitive Optical Fiber Ultrasonic Sensor for Partial Discharge Detection

Abstract

Optical fiber ultrasonic sensor based on Fabry-Perot cavity and micro-electromechanical-system diaphragm was proven to be suitable for partial discharge detection, which shows frequency responses up to 500kHz and minimum detectable pressure as low as 0.455μPaHz−1/2.
