High resolution acoustic emission detection system based on 3 × 3 coupler interrogation technology and random fiber laser

Abstract

A random narrow linewidth fiber laser with a π-FBG is used as the acoustic emission (AE) sensor. A high AE detection resolution of ~0.281 fε/√Hz and a signal-to-noise ratio of 58 dB are obtained.
