Abstract

In this paper we present theoretical and experimental study of the response to thermal gradients of fiber optic long period gratings (LPG) whose halves have different periods. We have performed theoretical simulations and experimental measurements. LPGs from standard SMF-28 fibers were fabricated by the arc induced method.
