Measuring overhead line temperature using fiber Bragg grating sensors

Abstract

Temperature measurements on overhead lines using FBG sensors were performed. Sensors were wrapped with copper wire for thermal transfer purposes. Influence of wind speed, solar irradiation, rain, environment temperature, on conductor temperature, were measured.
