Field Test of Telecommunication Facility Localization in OTDR Waveform Using Brillouin Gain Bandwidth

Abstract

We propose a method for localizing telecommunication facilities in OTDR waveform. The method measures the change in the Brillouin gain bandwidth caused by the cable bending, and the facility location is determined from the bending point.
