Abstract

Aspheric optical element production involves potential exposure to hazardous materials that include beryllium, silica and solvents. Subjects discussed include adverse health effects, contamination mechanisms and possible control methods, environmental and biologic monitoring, personnel protection, and regulatory compliance.
