Abstract

Optical elements need to be accurately characterized for today's specialized applications. The transmission of a lens, the reflectivity and surface roughness of mirrors are quantities that have to be determined to a high degree of accuracy for many applications. The device that is capable of performing these tests is a reflectometer.
