Abstract

Using Vickers indentations and applying the Evans model, the fracture toughness of ULE was found to be 1.43 MPa m1/2. Astrosital, Zerodur and Corning 9600 exhibited similar values of 1.34, 1.33 and 1.32 MPa m1/2 respectively.
