Overall permutation symmetry breakdown in nonlinear optical susceptibilities of one-dimensional periodic systems

Abstract

The overall permutation symmetry of the nonlinear susceptibilities is broken under the infinite one-dimensional single-electron dimerized Huckel model. Physical conditions to experimentally test such a symmetry break are discussed.
