Evolution of Broadband Spectrum Generation and Stimulated Raman Scattering from Nanosecond Pump Pulses in Single-Mode Optical Fiber

Abstract

At pumping of a standard fiber by an amplified directly modulated DFB laser the leading part of the pulse generates a broadband spectrum while the plateau causes the Raman amplification resulting in flat spectrum.
