A Mathematical and Experimental Simulation of Haidinger’s Brushes

Abstract

Haidinger’s brushes are the perception of polarized light with the unaided eye. We experimentally confirmed a computer model of Haidinger’s brushes, extended the empirical findings, and modeled the percept using the Poincare sphere.
