Plasmonic Photonic Crystals with Complete Bandgap for Surface Plasmon Polariton Waves

Abstract

A Si based plasmonic photonic crystal has been constructed on an Al surface to modulate the propagation of in-plane surface plasmon polariton waves. A complete 2D bandgap has been observed both experimentally and in simulation.
