Bending Large Glass Plates with Local Heat and Flexible Mold

Abstract

A new bending process for flat glass plates will be introduced. It has been developed using the support of numerical simulations and tested with a newly developed glass bending machine. High quality bent glass products with high geometrical accuracy and low optical distortions that may be tempered as well can automatically produced with this technology.
