Analyzing the aberration fields of a three-mirror telescope and correcting them using freeform Zernike surfaces

Abstract

Using the aberration theory of freeform surfaces, an unobscured three-mirror freeform telescope is designed. The design process utilizes aberration full-field displays to strategically add freeform terms only where needed in an effort to minimize the freeform departure.
