Construction of a Voice Coil Actuator Array for an Adaptive Optics System

Abstract

We are developing a prototype deformable mirror with engineered ceramic material for adaptive optics in high-power applications. We report preliminary test results from a voice-coil actuator array intended to drive this mirror at kHz rates.
