Abstract

As a result of recent progress in glass refinig precess and Index profile control .technique, it has become possible to get very low loss and wide band SELFOC® fiber which is made of multicomponent glass. And for experiments of high bit-rate PCM transmission using this SELFOC® fiber, a compact size 400Mb/s PCM repeater has been developed.
