Abstract

Since the concept of potential transmission was presented first by Berning and Turner(1), a number of papers on the preparation and design of induced transmission(IT) filter have been published(2,3,4,5,6,7). IT filters 2200-2600Å was reported (5) and our work is a continuation of it. A design method for IT filters is described on the basis of the transmittance characteristics of Fabry-Perot(F.P.) filters. Measurements are provided for absorption coefficient of MgO. The results are given of 2000-3000Å UV interference filters with high transmittance, narrow HBW and deep blocking.
