Abstract
Several wide-angle Michelson Doppler imaging interferometers will be flown in the near future on the Space Shuttle and on the Upper Atmospheric Research Satellite to study the winds, temperatures and volume omission rates of the upper atmosphere. For one measurement four consecutive images will be taken with the Michelson mirror moved an eighth of a wavelength between each image.
