Abstract

For some years the employment of coatings with radially variable reflectance in laser resonators has been gradually increasing. In fact mirrors with gaussian or supergaussian profiles of the reflected intensity, used as output coupler of unstable laser resonators, give diffraction limited laser beams with high energy or power.
