Abstract

A computer aided design of a thin film retardation quarter wave mirror at 632.8nm is presented. The Simplex optimization process was used in the design. The designed quarter wave mirror was manufactured and examined. The retardation of the mirror was measured. The results indicated that a retardation mirror can be successfully designed and produced.
