Common-index thin film polarizers for light at normal incidence

Abstract

Linear polarizers, such as the coated beam-splitting cube1, require considerable space in an optical system. In this presentation we describe the design and fabrication of thin film polarizers that can be used with light at normal incidence, and are compatible with existing planar technologies.
