Spatially patterned optical coatings as total reflectors in UV laser resonators

Abstract

Ultraviolet laser resonators with graded mirrors as output couplers give low divergence output beams but near-field beam profiles with a central dip. To overcome this problem, spatially patterned optical coatings as total reflectors of plane-parallel cavities are proposed.
