Non-Linear Absorption in Nanosecond Laser-Induced Damage

Abstract

The laser-induced damage behavior in tantala/silica composite single layers at λ =532nm (8ns) identified two-photon-absorption as governing interaction process during the damage event. Applying this approach to HR mirror designs verified this effect.
