Arrange symmetrical film stack as low-loss negative index metamaterial or light absorber

Abstract

Here, a metamaterial based on symmetrical film stack possesses feature of low-loss and negative refractive index is proposed. Further, owing to the flexibility of proposed method of design, an index matched light absorber can be achieved.
