Mitigation of the spiral pattern induced by the planetary motion

Abstract

Masking technique and planetary motion are two techniques to improve the coating thickness uniformity. However their combination generates a characteristic pattern like a spiral that can limit the sensitivity of gravitational wave interferometers.
