Contribution of trapped light scattering in the energy balance of multilayers: wavelength and modal variations

Abstract

We analyze the wavelength behavior of trapped light scattering transferred to guided modes within multilayer optics. This trapped light may largely dominate the free-space scattering which emerges in air.
