Translating optical imaging agents from the bench to the clinic: Lessons learned from Nuclear Medicine

Abstract

Optical probes have shown promise as human diagnostic imaging agents. Taking these agents into clinical use presents regulatory challenges. Lessons learned from nuclear medicine provide a pathway to enable clinical translation of optical agents.
