Abstract

Most pathological conditions are accompanied by alterations in tissue viscoelasticity. In this paper, we describe a new optical approach, Laser Speckle Rheology (LSR), to measure the viscoelastic properties of tissue and detail the results of three applications we have conducted that demonstrate the utility of the LSR approach for cardiology, blood diagnostics and cancer biology applications.
