Functionalized Erythrocyte-derived Optical Nanoparticles to Target Endothelial Cells of Port Wine Stains

Abstract

We engineered optical nanoparticles derived from erythrocytes and functionalized with ligands to target specific receptors on capillary endothelial cells. These particles may provide a new therapeutic approach for laser treatment of port wine stains.
