Assessing the Use of Digital Holographic Microscopy to Measure the Fractal Dimension of Colloidal Aggregates

Abstract

We perform simulations to evaluate an experimental technique for measuring the fractal dimension of colloidal aggregates using digital holographic microscopy. We find that the technique is valid for fractal dimensions as low as Df = 1.3.
