Abstract

Laser induced crystallization, in which optical radiation force of a tightly focused beam in the solution collects molecules of amino acids (or proteins) at high density so as to accelerate the nucleation, is promising to control orientation and polymorph of the crystals. We demonstrate the glycine crystallization by irradiation of optical vortices with various total angular momenta.
