Extraordinary optical transverse torque induced by localized surface plasmon

Abstract

We have investigated the transverse optical torque induced in the interaction between quadrupole and light. We have focused on the polarization designability of localized surface plasmon. We found the transverse torque is realized on V-shaped nanostructures even when illuminated by simple plane wave.
