Abstract

A laboratory has been established at the JPL-Table Mountain Facility at Wrightwood, California, from which to make atmospheric measurements. A high-power, differential absorption lidar system for measuring stratospheric (20 - 50 km) ozone concentration profiles, has been in operation at JPL-TMF since January 1988. In this paper we will present a brief description of the design, operation and data analysis methods for this system. The results obtained over the last two years will be summarized in terms of the observed seasonal variations in the ozone profile and by long-term inter-comparison with results from the SAGE II satellite instrument.
