Abstract

The Shuttle Solar Backscatter Ultraviolet (SSBUV) spectrometer has been calibrated for its maiden voyage on the 18 October 1989 flight of the orbiter Atlantis (STS-34). Three separate preflight calibrations, performed during the period October 1988 through May 1989, showed a prelaunch radiometric calibration repeatability on the order of 1% or better.
