Abstract

The precipitation measurements have been of wide interests ranging from the agriculture to the water supply. The role of latent heat released from precipitation in the atmospheric dynamics and general circulation has intensified the rainfall measurements. Due to the sparse measurements by the conventional stations and the inaccuracy associated with them, the requirement for the global measurements of precipitation will be melt with the satellite remote sensing techniques.
