Ozone monitoring by the MRI Mark II Mobile Lidar

Abstract

The Lidar was developed for the purpose of measuring stratospheric ozone in 1988 at Meteorological Research Institute (MRI). Using this system, temperature and aerosols can be measured simultaneously. Ozone concentrations are closely related to temperature and aerosols in the stratosphere. The retrieval of ozone concentration is based on the differential absorption lidar (DIAL) technique using at least two different laser lines.
