Abstract

Two different Lidar set-ups placed in the same area (Frascati) have been used to measure the absolute backscattering efficiency in the near I.R. as a function of transmitter wavelengths in the range 1-10 μm. The set-up built for backscattering measurements in the near I.R. (1- 3 μm range) is based on Raman shifting the Nd:YAG laser radiation and its main features are listed in Table 1. The existing CO2 Lidar station [1] has been used to take data around 10 μm. Horizontal calibration has been performed for both the set-ups.
