Abstract

In 1983, Takeuchi et al. [1] demonstrated a pseudo-noise (PN) lidar using an externally modulated Argon laser. In 1986, Takeuchi et al. [2] reported PN aerosol lidar measurements using a single AlGaAs laser as a transmitter. We recently reported the design and initial measurements [3,4] made with our AlGaAs lidar which uses a Si APD photon counting detector with a histogram-correlate signal processor.
