Abstract

Increasing interest in the role of ice sheets in regulating global climate has created a need for synoptic interannual recording and monitoring of the earth’s major ice sheets. Based on their ability to “see” into ice, microwave remote sensing instruments are well-suited for monitoring the polar regions.
