Chromatic Aberration and Attenuation Properties of Water-based Rod Optical Waveguides for use in Hybrid Solar Energy Systems

Abstract

We analyze a variety of optical filtering technologies and find that water-based rod waveguides can provide a cost effective alternative to the use of optical fiber for improving the performance of hybrid photovoltaic/solar-thermal systems.
