Optical Detection of Bio-Agents

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Fluorescence excitation with recently developed ultraviolet LEDs enables rapid detection of individual aerosol particles, creating practical surveillance capabilities. However, current optical methods lack specificity, suffer from high rates of false positives, and do not support standoff detection. This talk will discuss optical technologies needed to remedy some of these problems. Full-text article is not available.
