Technology and Policy

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

The DHS Science and Technology Directorate defines the IED threat into three categories: aviation, suicide/leave behind and vehicle-borne. The needs for countermeasures are based on venue, but the technology development is based on threat. Policy makers use the results of feasibility studies to form future policy and make planning and budgeting decisions. This talk will address technology as it is driven by the threats as well as how it shapes policy. Full-text article is not available.
