Thermophoretic tweezers for low-power manipulation of colloidal particles and biological cells

Abstract

We develop thermophoretic tweezers based on the plasmon-enhanced optothermal effect to dynamically trap colloidal particles from micron- to nano-scale and live cells at a low optical power.
