Abstract

Recent advances in early diagnosis of cancer, infections, and cardiovascular disorders with ~1000-fold improved sensitivity are presented with focus on in vivo photoacoustic multiplex detection of disease-associated circulating markers. First clinical applications of this technology for prevention of metastasis and stroke are discussed.
