Optical Ultrasound Detection in Photoacoustic Microscopy

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Comparing with piezoelectric ultrasound detectors, optical ultrasound detectors provide several benefits including improved detection sensitivity, extended bandwidth, device miniaturization, optical transparency, and potential mechanical flexibility. These features may bring photoacoustic microscopy to broader biomedical applications.
